We recently organized a highly productive meeting with a General Practitioner (GP) focusing on two key areas: bronchoscopy procedures in lung cancer and allergy immunotherapy and its role .
The idea behind the meet was to discuss and understand role of bronchoscopy & thoracoscopy mainly diagnostic for lung conditions like pneumonia , Lung cancer, pleural effusion . We had detailed discussion on indications, preparation, and diagnostic values . We also covered the advanced bronchoscopy procedures like EbusTbna , endobronchial biopsy , CBCT , EMN , paediatric bronchoscopy.
Equally valuable was the session dedicated to allergy awareness and allergy immunotherapy by Dr. Aditi Shah .The GPs were provided an overview of common allergens, symptoms of various allergic reactions (from mild to anaphylactic), and the available diagnostic methods, such as skin prick testing and drug challenge test, CRD . A significant portion of the conversation focused on management strategies, including avoidance techniques, immunotherapy and biologicals like omalizumab , Benralizumab and also the importance of having an Epinephrine auto-injector for severe reactions. Overall, the session was a success, significantly boosting our knowledge on effectively identifying, diagnosing, and managing conditions related to the lungs and allergy .
